The Burns Barn was built in 1927 for the P. Burns and Company Bow Valley Ranch in Calgary. Its owner, Patrick Burns, was one of the celebrated Big Four who first invested in Guy Weadick's Calgary Stampede in 1912. For the Maple Festival, it will host many workshops and activities for the families.
Workshops and Activity stations
Circus workshops Presented by Cirque Nova Circus, children will be taught the basics of the circus art. (3 stations for 45 min., twice a day, schedule to come)
Magic workshop Isabelle "The Wonderful" Cliche will introduce the children to the secrets of magicians. (30 min., Twice a day, schedule to come)
First Nation dance workshop Thundering Nations International Co. will introduce children to First Nations music and dance. 30 min., once a day
150 years of Albertan dance From line dancing to hip-hop, let yourself move while learning about 150 years of dance in Alberta (Exact time to be confirmed)
The Craft Zone For the pleasure of young artists, The Craft Zone will be dedicated to crafting Maple themed items. Also come do your own finger weaving bracelet ! (All day)
The Game Zone SPEFSA-CRF staffers will be leading various Maple Festival themed games (All day)
